In order to ollie on a tech deck, you will need to first understand the basics of the ollie. The ollie is a skateboarding trick that is performed by lifting the front wheels of the skateboard off the ground and then snapping the board back down. This trick is the basis for many other skateboarding tricks.
Set up your tech deck
To set up your tech deck, you will need:
-A flat surface to ride on. A flat skateboard ramp or concrete sidewalk works well.
-A Tech Deck mini skateboard.
-Your Ollie Basics board. This is a small piece of plywood or MDF with two pegs sticking up out of it. One peg goes in front of the trucks, and the other goes in back.
To set up your board, first place the Ollie Basics board on the ground in front of your Tech Deck mini skateboard. Then take your front foot and place it on top of the front peg, and take your back foot and place it on top of the back peg. You should now be in an ollie stance with your feet about shoulder width apart and your weight evenly distributed between your feet.
Place your front foot
Before you can ollie, you need to know how to place your front foot properly. The first thing you want to do is find a raised surface that you can use to help you get started. You can use a curb, a stack of books, or anything else that will give you a little bit of elevation. Once you’ve found your surface, put your front foot on it so that your toe is hanging off the side.
Place your back foot
One of the most basic skateboarding tricks, the ollie is a must for anyone hoping to venture beyond simply pushing and cruising. The ollie is a jumping trick where the rider and board jump into the air without the use of their hands. It may look simple, but it takes a lot of practice to perfect. Here are some tips on how to do an ollie on a Tech Deck.
First, you will need to place your back foot on the tail of the deck and your front foot near the middle of the deck. Then, you will need to bend your knees and jump into the air, using your back foot to push off of the tail and your front foot to help you jump. As you are jumping, you will need to flick your wrists so that the deck spins in mid-air. Once the deck comes back down under your feet, land with your feet in the same position that they were in when you took off. Practice this move until you feel comfortable doing it and then move on to trying new tricks!

Keep your feet in place
The most important thing to remember when learning how to ollie is to keep your feet in the same place. This can be difficult at first, but will become second nature with a little practice. You will also need to learn how to control your balance as you land so that you don’t fall over.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Put your front foot on the deck in the middle of the trucks.
2. Place your back foot slightly behind and to the side of your front foot.
3. Bend your knees and lean forward, keeping your feet in place.
4. As you lean forward, put pressure on your front foot and use your back foot to push off of the ground.
5. The deck should go up into the air as you push off of the ground. As it does, pull your feet up so that they are level with the deck.
6. Once your feet are level with the deck, begin kicking your back leg out behind you while keeping pressure on your front foot. This will cause the deck to rotate around in midair.

The first step is to subtly pre-bounce off the ground by loosening your back foot, and at the same time, slightly cocking your front foot to the side. This will put your foot in the perfect position to flick the deck and make it pop into the air. As you pre-bounce, make sure that you keep your legs relatively straight, and try not to bend your knees too much.

Put your feet back
The ollie is the quintessential skateboarding trick, the foundation on which most other tricks are based. It’s also one of the hardest tricks to master. But once you get it down, you can ride away with a sweet sense of accomplishment. The key to nailing an ollie is getting your feet back properly.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Put your front foot on the center of the board and your back foot on the tail.
2. Bend your knees and crouch down low, keeping your weight over your feet.
3. Put your hands on the ground beside the board for balance.
4. Spring up into the air, using your legs to propel yourself upward while simultaneously lifting your front foot off the ground and kicking downward with your back foot to make the board pop into the air behind you. (This is where the “ollie” sound comes from.)
5. As the board pops into the air, use your front foot to guide it up and behind you while you jump up off of it.
6. As you come down from your jump, place your back foot on top of the tail and let gravity do its thing.
After you’ve mastered the ollie, it’s time to start riding away! The key here is to keep your balance while you’re moving. Shift your weight around on the board until you find a comfortable stance, then start pushing with your back foot to roll forward. Remember to keep your front foot on the nose of the board, and keep your back foot close to the tail. As you get faster, you can start slowly lifting your front foot off the ground. Just make sure that when you do lift it, you slide it back into place quickly so you don’t lose balance and fall!
